Meet the Founder
I'm Aimee, the founder of OAN DAE.
OAN DAE was born from something deeply personal for me.
When my dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer, I moved home to New Zealand to be with him for the final 18 months of his life.
I suddenly became very aware of how precious time is. I wanted to make sure we made the most of the time we had together. With the support of Cranford Hospice and the counselling services there, I became very intentional about making sure I said and did the things that mattered to me, so that I could leave as few regrets as possible.
I had conversations with him that I might never have thought to have otherwise. I even recorded one of those conversations, and today, that recording is something I treasure.
That experience changed the way I think about time, connection and the conversations we sometimes leave until it is too late. It also planted the seed for OAN DAE. I wanted to create something that could help people slow down, put their phones away, be present with their loved ones and create space for conversations that might otherwise never happen.
And while my story began with grief, OAN DAE is not about waiting for loss to remind us what is important.
It is about choosing to make the most of our time while we have it, and being intentional about the life we choose to live.
That is what Own Your Days and Live life on your terms mean to me.
My hope is to inspire others to be present, connect deeply and own their days, however that looks for them.
